The Rochester Americans will hold their annual“Hometown Heroes Night,” presented by Advantage Federal Credit Union, on Friday, Feb. 2 when the team hosts the Toronto Marlies at 7:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena.

“Hometown Heroes Night is a game we take great pride in hosting each year as it gives us yet another opportunity to honor all the local first responders of our community,” saidRob Minter, Vice President of Business Operations for the Amerks. “The countless sacrifices they make every day certainly don’t go unnoticed and this is our way of saying thank you for all that they do.”

“One of Advantage’s core values over the years has been to make sure we do the right thing for our members and our employees,” saidJeff Bocach, President and CEO of Advantage Federal Credit Union. “Supporting first responders, those that support us every day, is a reflection of that core value. S.O.A.R. Holiday Party Recap

Around 100 retirees, spouses, guests and friends enjoyed the 2017 S.O.A.R. Christmas Holiday Party held on 12-3-17. Whittier Party House was the site of this festive occasion. Our special guest was The Honorable Mr. Justin Wilcox, 14th District, Monroe County Legislature. He was our guest in a effort to demonstrate our appreciation for his work to correct the involuntarily changes pressed onto our many of our retiree health benefits by the monroe county human resources department.

We also were very fortunate to have over 15 raffle prizes given to the lucky winners of our annual raffle. $$ received went into our bereavement fund. 5 door prizes were also awarded to those in attendance without any cost to the attendees. Lots of smiles and conversation was observed for the group. A fun time was had by all.
